Foundation Laid for New DR Storage Building

Construction of the new MBA DR storage building is well under way.  This unit will house equipment and supplies to be used in a disaster situation.  The concrete for the foundation arrived on September 25, 2006.

MBA Receives New Generator

The MBA office received a new generator to prepare for future Disaster Relief Ministry.  In the event of a major disaster such as Hurricane Katrina the generator will be able to power the MBA office as it functions as a DR Incident Command Center.  As they did in the wake of Katrina, the MBA staff will serve as DR Coordinators, directing volunteers and donations to where they are most needed.  The generator arrived at the office one year after Katrina made landfall, August 29, 2006.

A special thank you goes to Wayne Norman of Normco for helping us secure the generator and for  delivering it to the MBA office.  We are looking for grants and donations to pay for the generator and communication equipment needed to prepare for the next storm.
