MBA Disaster Relief Response to Fay

The Mobile Baptist Association Disaster Relief Ministry is prepared to respond to damage or needs that arise from TS Fay.

Please visit our web page http://www.mobilebaptists.org/DR.htm for response information. You may want to print out this information so you have it if the power goes down.

BA Pastor and Church Disaster Relief Guide provides information about how the DR process works in the MBA

Damage Assessment and Property Owner's Release Form is what you need to complete and return to the MBA office for us to get volunteer teams to help. Our priority in this office is to respond first to storm damage among cooperating churches so they can serve as community ministry centers and respond to any storm  damage at the home of the pastor or staff home.

Church DR Community Ministry Response Form. Pls complete this for and return it to the MBA office to let us know what ministries your church can provide in the aftermath o Fay or other hurricanes/disasters.

Sample Volunteer/Donation Coordination Spreadsheet. This is the process we use to collect and distribute resources where they are needed.

Church Preparedness for Disaster Manual. Is another manual to help you church prepare and respond.

Please contact the MBA office if we can serve you through this emergency. 251-661-7111

OCTOBER 18, 2008

 8:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m.

(Groups leave every 15 minutes in order to be finished by noon)

In the month of July, more than 15 men have prayed to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord at the International Ministries Center.  These men represent four different languages.  Because of your great participation in past Walks for Bibles and International Ministries, we had a Bible in the language of each of the men who prayed to receive Christ.

Our new USC-2 missionaries, Jarrod and Jessica Watts, are able to serve with us and make a vital contribution to the ministry to seafarers and the International Language School.  Their work is possible because MBA churches believe in the Walk for Bibles and International Ministries.

And, last but certainly not least, God is using the International Ministries of the MBA to impact the 42 language groups in Mobile County in great part because of funds from WFBIM.

The Walk for Bibles and International Ministries is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 AM this year.  In response to requests to make WFBIM as accessible as possible to as many people as possible, we have coordinated four walk sites:

The International Ministries Center

Dauphin Island Baptist Church

University of Mobile and

First Baptist Church of Citronelle

The Captain’s Banquet will be Tuesday, September  9, 6:30 PM at Cottage Hill Baptist Church.  All Pastors are encouraged and Captains are required to attend this training event.  Detailed information regarding forms, registration, mobilization and walk sites will be given at this time.  Please mark your calendars for both the walk on October 18 and the banquet on September 9.  WFBIM has the greatest financial impact on International Ministries of any single event we do.  Be thinking of creative ways to get your congregation, student ministry, Sunday School Class, men’s ministry, RA’s, GA’s, AWANA’s, WMU  and all missions loving people involved.  We have had several requests to make this an annual event instead of every two years. Please let us know your thoughts.

Click here to follow the link to WFBIM for detailed information for captains and participants, walk routes and forms.  For more information contact Doug Beck at 251-433-7953 or imc@mobilebaptists.org.
